Coalseam ConservationPark

오스트레일리아 코럴 해안, MINGENEW, WESTERN AUSTRALIA

Cliffs along the Irwin River expose 250 million years of layered siltstone, claystone and sandstone in this park inland from Geraldton near Mingenew — the site of Western Australia's first mined coal deposit. It is best known for everlastings: after good rain, blankets of yellow and pink flowers spread across the valley, some of the finest wildflower country in the northern Wheatbelt. The 3.2-kilometre Plateau Loop climbs through eucalypt woodland to ridge-top views, the short Irwin Lookout trail hangs over the valley, and wedge-tailed eagles and peregrine falcons work the updrafts. Two bookable campgrounds serve overnighters.
