James Hamilton makes Golden Child from grapes grown by his father on the family vineyard in the southern Adelaide Hills, a label he started in 2016 with a few tonnes bought off Dad. The wines are fresh and bright, built to drink easily but made with some thought behind them: a Gamay, a Beach Bum Rosé, a Lazy Sunday light red, a Manic Monday Pinot Noir. The name settles an old sibling argument over who the golden child really is.
