Half an acre of open-air growing space on the semi-rural edge of Rossmore, an hour southwest of the Sydney CBD, holds more than 300 varieties of cacti, succulents and agave under owner Margaret Cumurovic. Some of the specimens are decades old — a few pushing 50 years — well beyond the three-year-old stock typical of general nurseries, the result of Cumurovic's own hunting trips across Sydney rather than bulk deliveries. Prices start around $5 for smaller plants and climb toward $60–$100 for the rarer finds. Visits run by appointment, generally Tuesday to Thursday and Saturday mornings, which keeps the operation intimate rather than a drive-through garden centre. For collectors chasing an unusual agave or an aged cactus rather than a standard six-pack of succulents, it's worth the booking and the drive out.
