Towering trees, palm groves, trickling streams and rich birdlife survive here in the best remaining example of the rainforest that once covered this part of the Great Dividing Range. The park sits about 14 kilometres east of Hampton and 32 kilometres north of Toowoomba, reached via the Esk-Hampton road, with Gus Beutel lookout near the Cedar Block day-use area. Red cedar and other rainforest hardwoods were logged from these slopes before protection; what remains is a day-visit park of walking tracks and a scenic drive, with no camping.
