A fixture on the Blackall Range since 1969, this hinterland cafe sits on Flaxton Drive between Montville and Mapleton, on the route through the Sunshine Coast's high country. Breakfast, lunch and dessert run on local produce, and the room doubles as a showcase of regional art and giftware. It is licensed and open seven days from morning to mid-afternoon, geared to the passing trade of a Sunday drive through the ranges. More than half a century in one spot has made it a habitual stop for day-trippers heading up from the coast, and its long tenure and elevated garden setting mark it out from the newer cafes that have come and gone along the range.
