On the Ningaloo coast in Cape Range National Park near Exmouth, Turquoise Bay is one of the finest snorkelling beaches in Australia - a long curve of white sand and, just metres offshore, a coral reef alive with fish, turtles and reef sharks. A gentle current at the drift-snorkel end carries swimmers along the reef with no effort at all. The water is the impossible blue that gives the bay its name, and the reef is so close you can wade straight out to it. It is the World Heritage Ningaloo Reef at its most accessible and dazzling.
