Waterside Metal Art is a working forge in Melbourne's inner west, on Wurundjeri country, where the fire is lit for both making and teaching. Its hands-on courses run from short introductions to a two-day workshop forging a Damascus chef's knife in the Japanese style, and the studio takes occasional commissions for functional and sculptural work. It is a bladesmithing bench in the older mould — steel worked hot at the anvil — pitched as an open, inclusive space for anyone drawn to the craft.
