Beechmont Estate

Spread over roughly 75 acres of the Scenic Rim, on the ridgeline at Beechmont between the Gold Coast hinterland and World Heritage-listed Lamington National Park, this retreat scatters freestanding cabins and pavilions across working farmland. Accommodation is deliberately low-density — verandahs, fireplaces and long views over the hills — and centres on a chef-hatted restaurant, The Paddock, that cooks to seasonal Queensland produce, some of it grown on site. There is a day spa and a network of walking trails, with the national park's rainforest a short drive uphill. The setting does much of the work: cool-climate country about ninety minutes from Brisbane, yet close enough to the coast to feel like a genuine escape from it. Part of the small Morris Escapes group of Queensland lodges, it is run as a singular property rather than a template.
