A two-hour, volunteer-guided walk through the CBD of Broken Hill, Australia's first heritage-listed city, takes in the outback mining town's grand civic buildings, from the Post Office to the former convent and Trades Hall. Guides trace the silver-lead-zinc history that shaped the streetscape, including street names drawn from metals and minerals. Walks set out from the Visitor Information Centre on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings, and the centre coordinates bookings.
