Now settled in Atwell Arcade off Cantonment Street in central Fremantle, this all-vegan cafe moved south from a Northbridge hole-in-the-wall and gained room to breathe. The menu is brunch-forward and unapologetically pretty, avo smash, matcha, flower-strewn plates and a rotating case of sweet treats, but the plant-based cooking underneath is the reason it has kept its following through the relocation. Everything on the plate is vegan; the one concession is cow's milk offered for coffee, a line the kitchen otherwise holds. The fit-out is bright and easy, with more seating and air-conditioning than the old site allowed. It trades Wednesday to Sunday, morning into mid-afternoon. In a port city better known for its pubs and fish, it offers a considered plant-based alternative that has outlasted the trend cycle, trading since 2014.
