Part cafe, part provisions store, this Falls Road room is the work of Fish Creek local Michelle Gibson, who stocks the shelves with the surrounding country: Prom Country cheeses and wines, regional preserves including her own, and ready meals made on site. Up front it works as a licensed cafe, turning out breakfast, lunch, coffee and quiches, with tapas served into the evening on Friday and Saturday. The larder threads through it all, alongside a scattering of ceramics and woodwork from Gippsland makers. It reads as a one-room argument for South Gippsland's food, a short drive from the gates of Wilsons Promontory and a step off Fish Creek's art-deco main street.
