Harveys Bar + Bistro has been PJ McMillan's since 2007, when the New Zealand-born chef took over a neighbourhood café on James Street and stayed. He first cooked in Australia at the NZ Pavilion at Expo 88 and returned via Auckland kitchens alongside his restaurateur twin sister. Breakfast, lunch and dinner run off a seasonal all-day menu, served in a dining room on the street, a weather-protected patio behind tropical foliage, and the Garden Room for private tables of up to 34.
