A wholly Tiwi-owned art centre near Pirlangimpi, on the north-west coast of Melville Island in the Tiwi group north of Darwin. Tiwi art has a strong visual identity of its own, and this is one of the community-run places where it is made and sold, about a kilometre from the Garden Point airstrip. Visiting the Tiwi Islands needs a permit arranged in advance, so this is a genuine working studio rather than a gallery built for passing trade.
