The town's pub sits up on Morgo Street with a long outlook over the Kalang and Bellinger rivers, and it still does the job a country hotel is meant to: cold beer, a broad bistro menu and a shaded deck and beer garden for warm evenings. Meals run every day from midday through to around 8pm, so dinner is a reliable prospect whatever the night, roasts, steaks, seafood, burgers and salads, plus a dine-in and takeaway pizza list that comes into its own after dark. It is an independently run hotel rather than a club, which shows in the unfussy, local feel of the place. Families are welcome inside and out, and the river views from the deck are reason enough to time a visit for sunset.
