Over theEdge Melrose

Melrose is a cycling town, one main street at the foot of Mount Remarkable's trail network, and its cafe doubles as the bike shop where riders gather over morning coffee before heading out. Family-run, it keeps the machine going all day for a mostly outdoors crowd, pairing flat whites with house-made cakes, raw sweets, chia pots, toasties and packed picnics built from local produce. Come evening the offer shifts to grazing platters and a bottle of regional wine as the sun drops over the plains. A mechanic and hire fleet operate alongside, from family bikes to dual-suspension trail machines, which is why the room fills with mud-flecked riders swapping notes on the Remarkable Epic. Open daily except Tuesdays, morning to late afternoon.
