Kevin Room hand-forges high-performance kitchen knives in south-west Brisbane, making each blade start to finish and often in collaboration with the client. He began in 2010 with basic tools in his father-in-law's backyard and has since built a proper workshop and a reputation to match: a full member and Queensland state representative of the Australian Knifemakers Guild, and winner of Best Kitchen Knife at the 2019 Queensland Knife Show. The pleasure of the work, for him, is a blade that glides through a carrot without a sound.
