Built in 1866 as the Flinders Hotel, this heritage pub sits on the beachfront at Streaky Bay on the western Eyre Peninsula, some 700 kilometres from Adelaide. Upstairs, a handful of balcony rooms open through French doors onto views of the jetty, foreshore and town, fitted with cast-iron beds and Chesterfield chairs; motel rooms sit behind. Continental breakfast is included, and the ground floor runs to a bistro and bars rather than gaming. A country hotel for slow coastal stops, fishing and surf.
