At Balgo, reached via Halls Creek in remote Western Australia, this centre gathers desert painters whose work is known for bold colour and strong brushwork. Beyond canvas, the studio produces works on paper, printed fabric, glass art and prints. It runs on ceremony and country; as the artists put it, they keep their ceremonies and visit their Country, and that is why they still paint here.
