Abigail Fergusson makes cocktail hats, pillboxes, fascinators and headbands to order, alongside bridal headpieces and racewear commissioned for the spring carnival season, and customers can watch pieces being built rather than pulling a finished hat off a rack. The boutique side of the room runs to dresses, handbags, jewellery and sunglasses, curated from other small Australian makers rather than mass suppliers. It's a Northern Beaches fixture for anyone dressing for a wedding, the races or a garden party who wants something made rather than bought off a hanger, and one of a shrinking number of Sydney studios still combining bespoke millinery with a retail floor. Open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm; Sunday and Monday by appointment for fittings and consultations.
