Moorpark apricots, grown spray-free and left to ripen fully on the tree, are the single focus of this Coal River Valley farm gate, on Tea Tree Road between Campania and Richmond. Through summer it opens daily, ten until three, selling fruit by the kilo from a farm stand or letting visitors fill their own bucket among the trees for a flat rate. There's no shopfront, cafe or cellar door dressing — just the orchard, a stand and a phone number for bulk orders — which suits a valley better known for its vineyards than its stone fruit. It's one of a handful of growers listed on the region's official farm gate trail, and a rare chance to buy apricots that ripened where they're sold rather than travelling to get there. Hours shrink or expand with the season and the weather, so a call ahead is worthwhile before making the drive out from Richmond or Brighton.
