One hectare of village and seven of bush beside Hampden Bridge. A dairy where butter-making is still demonstrated, a forge, a bush school with a lesson running in the one room, and Rendall Cottage, built around 1870 — laundry out the back, loo further still. George Walker built the 72-metre suspension footbridge himself on his own farm; volunteers moved it here and Neville Wran opened it in 1977.
