Twenty-nine people started the society in 1970. It now holds two buildings: the Stroud Courthouse, and Quambi House, a schoolhouse the Australian Agricultural Company put up in the early 1840s and volunteers spent fifteen years restoring. The collection runs to photographs and files on Stroud families, AACo employees and residents back to 1826, which makes it the place to start if you're tracing anyone from this valley. Hours vary; tours by appointment.
