Come dusk, this First Avenue room fills with the smell of pizza and the sound of someone tuning up in the corner. The kitchen keeps things deliberately local, pizzas built on regional produce and a short menu of plates to go with them, while the bar pours craft cocktails alongside local and imported wines and beers. Music is central to the place, with local and touring musicians a regular fixture, giving weeknights a loose, lived-in feel rather than a staged one. Doors open from four Wednesday through Saturday and from noon on Sundays, with the kitchen running well into the evening. It reads less like a restaurant and more like a friend's front room that happens to make good pizza and pour a proper drink, independent and unhurried, firmly part of the village fabric rather than any national roll-out.
