Iron GateKnives

NEWCASTLE, NSW

Iron Gate Knives is a four-hand workshop at Anna Bay on the New South Wales coast, run by a group of mates bound by fishing and hunting, co-founded by a maker named Andrew. They handmake bushcraft and hunting knives, fishing blades from fillets to tuna swords, and kitchen knives including chef's and stockman patterns. The steel runs to Damascus, high-carbon 52100 and san mai, hardened and cryo-treated. Handles are set in deer antler, abalone, York-gum burl, red mallee and African blackwood. Small batches drop online each week, alongside custom builds.
