The art centre for Gununa, the main community on Mornington Island in the Gulf of Carpentaria, run by the Mirndiyan Gununa Aboriginal Corporation from 1 Lardil Street. Its MIART gallery shows painting and work by the island's Lardil and Kaiadilt artists — the community that produced the celebrated painter Sally Gabori. Out in the Gulf and reached by air, it's a remote centre where a distinctive northern painting tradition is made and shown on its own Country.
