Nitmiluk National Park is owned by the Jawoyn people — seventeen clans with a shared vision of sharing their country — and Nitmiluk Tours is their enterprise, running the gorge since 1993. Cruises through the sandstone gorges carry Jawoyn names and stories; Nabilil Dreaming is the candlelit dinner on the water at sunset. Canoe trips run from a half-day paddle to the two-day Barrak Barrak, and Footsteps of our Ancestors walks take in rock art on foot. All proceeds are reinvested into community: employment, education, land management.
