Sandstone warehouses on Salamanca Place, built for trade, have housed artists, makers and performers since 1976. Studios, galleries, residencies and retail sit side by side inside buildings the centre actively maintains rather than merely occupies. On Mouheneener land, it's a working precinct — art is made here daily, not just displayed.
