Sheffield's two volunteer-run galleries — the Sheffield Art Gallery and the Albert Gallery workshop space — sit in council-owned buildings and operate as a special committee of Kentish Council. Artists show and sell their own work, run periodic workshops, and use the space for practice between exhibitions. Community infrastructure, plainly done.
