The Bird

A 150-capacity live music bar on William Street in Northbridge, opened in 2010 by Brenton Grove and Mike O'Hanlon as a counter to the strip's nightclub scene. The room looks like a band's rehearsal space — exposed brick, an open-air courtyard out the back. Tame Impala, Pond, Methyl Ethel, Stella Donnelly and Spacey Jane all played here early, before the rest of the country caught on. Original local acts most nights, touring names on the bigger ones.
