The Governor Hindmarsh Hotel on Port Road — an 1848 pub the Tonkin family turned, from 1993, into Adelaide's home of live, original music. Touring acts of every genre play the main room; the front bar runs free weekly sessions — blues, open mic, ukulele, Irish fiddlers, a choir. Five performing spaces, wood-oven pizzas, and a national 'Best Entertainment Venue in Australia' award twice over. The kind of room a ukulele club and a touring headliner share in the same week.
