Aboriginal Cultural Centreand Keeping Place

Opened in 1988 and under all-Aboriginal community control since 1997, the Keeping Place represents six nations — Anaiwan, Kamilaroi, Dunghutti, Ngarabal, Banbai and Gumbaynggirr — from its site on Kentucky Street, Armidale. Two galleries, more than 700 artefacts from every mainland state, a family history centre, and an Anaiwan language group that meets here. Tours run from the gallery floor out to bush tucker and Aboriginal sites.
