Fred Gungl leads Active Flight Paragliding from Mystic Flight Park, a launch 500 metres above the valley floor five minutes' drive from Bright in Victoria's high country. A seven-time Australian paragliding champion with more than 25 years of flying behind him, Gungl and his SAFA-qualified pilots have run tandem flights from Mystic Mountain for over two and a half decades. Three tandem tiers are offered, each pairing a single guest with a pilot: a Basic Flight of around 10 minutes airtime for $225, a Thermic Flight of around 30 minutes for $299, and an Extended Flight of around 60 minutes for $399. Flights launch from the mountain rather than a low cliff, and are scheduled for morning or evening depending on the wind conditions typical of the alpine high country. The school describes itself as Australia's premier paragliding training facility, running tandem flights alongside full licence courses for people progressing into the sport, with photo and video packages and group bookings available.
