Thomas and Nanette Botha bought this run-down block at the foot of Sleeping Beauty in 2019 and rebuilt it paddock by paddock into a working regenerative farm. Five dairy cows, sheep, laying hens, pigs and meat chickens now rotate across what was once waterlogged, depleted ground, alongside a market garden and some 8,000 strawberry plants. Visitors can walk the farm on a tour — feeding pigs, chickens and calves, and seeing the polytunnels and rotational paddocks up close — and when the strawberries ripen, picking days open to the public, weather and season permitting. The farm now supplies produce to two local restaurants as well as selling direct. It's a genuine soil-health operation rather than a polished agritourism set-up, in Tasmania's Huon Valley. Check ahead for picking dates, which shift with the season.
