Maree Starkey makes bespoke millinery by hand from her studio in Newport, on Brisbane's north side, working with each client by appointment. Her pieces are built for occasions — race-day hats and fascinators, bridal headpieces and tiaras, sun hats and headbands among them — designed and finished individually rather than bought in. Visits are arranged ahead, so a fitting can be shaped around both the wearer and the day it's made for.
