Five Sisters sits at the back of a brick terrace in South Brisbane, reached either from Melbourne Street or from Fish Lane behind it, in high-ceilinged rooms opening onto a paved courtyard. Five sisters run it, cooking from their mother's Greek and Mediterranean recipes — gnocchi and pasta, meze, baklava and loukoumi, all made on the premises. It opens at half past five in the morning and closes at one, except on Fridays, when it reopens as a taverna.
