A long ribbon of box-ironbark forest along the Great Dividing Range east of Heathcote, gazetted in 2002 to protect one of Victoria's dwindling stands of this goldfields woodland. The ranges shelter swift parrots and other woodland birds, and spring fills the understorey with wildflowers. Walking tracks climb Mount Ida and Viewing Rock for long views over the surrounding country, while the old townsite of Graytown holds gold-rush relics. Sections of the park are set aside for prospecting.
