Hill InletLookout Track

大堡礁, WHITSUNDAY ISLAND, QUEENSLAND

大堡礁, Whitsunday Island, Queensland获取方向

Twin lookouts on the crest above Tongue Bay look down on Hill Inlet, where the tides push white silica sand and blue water into constantly shifting patterns beside Whitehaven Beach. The walk up from Tongue Bay is short and uphill — 1.3 kilometres return through Whitsunday Islands National Park, with signs along the way telling the story of the Ngaro People, the area's Traditional Owners. Access is by boat, with public moorings in Tongue Bay and anchoring possible from mid to high tide. Migratory wading birds forage the shallows below, and stingrays and sharks cruise the deeper water.
