On a private hilltop at Kimo Estate, minutes from Gundagai, a lone studio A-frame looks out over 360-degree views of the Murrumbidgee river flats. It runs off-grid on solar, with a queen bed, wood fire and louvres for summer air, and an outdoor kitchenette fitted with a Weber and dual burner. A wood-fired hot tub warms the winter nights; a plunge pool cools the summer ones. Regional produce is left out for breakfast. Adults-only and no pets, it's a pared-back retreat on a working property roughly halfway between Sydney and Melbourne.
