Set in the outfield of Yeo Park, on the edges of Ashfield, Dulwich Hill, Canterbury and Marrickville, this café occupies a 1950s former baby health clinic, a brick building with porthole windows overlooking the park lawn. Locals Caleb and Belinda Maynard started it after wishing for good coffee near where they'd been kicking the footy and pushing the kids on the swings.
The menu changes with the seasons — choose an Open, Roll or Bowl, with sourdough focaccia on weekends and house-baked muffins, cookies and cakes. A small bakery turns out bread and seasonal house-made jams, and picnic boxes feeding eight to ten can be pre-booked. Borrow a picnic blanket and eat on the grass.
