Protesters Falls

北部河流地区, THE CHANNON, NEW SOUTH WALES

The Terania Creek protests of the late 1970s saved this patch of rainforest from logging, and the waterfall at the end of the 1.4-kilometre return track is named for them. Elevated boardwalks carry the walk through World Heritage-listed rainforest of native palms, habitat for fruit doves and threatened frog species, and sculptural elements at the track's start recount the conservation history. The falls sit in Nightcap National Park near The Channon, north of Lismore, and the area can close at short notice after heavy rain.
