On a 200-acre off-grid wildlife refuge above the wild Cape Otway coast, a scatter of architecturally designed pods look out through floor-to-ceiling windows to the Southern Ocean and coastal rainforest. Everything runs on solar, with a light footprint the owners have backed by planting more than 60,000 native trees across a decade of land restoration. Koalas, kangaroos, wallabies and native birds move through the bush around you, and the Great Ocean Walk, Station Beach and Rainbow Falls are all close by.
