High on the Springbrook plateau in the Gold Coast hinterland, five timber chalets sit well spaced within Gondwana rainforest, part of a World Heritage area of possums, goannas and birdsong. Interiors are lined entirely in timber, each with a spa bath and a fireplace against the mountain cool. National park walking trails begin from the door, ranging from a fifty-metre stroll to sixteen kilometres. A self-contained retreat for those who want the forest close and little else.
