Know before you go. On Catastrophic Fire Danger days the whole park closes — do not enter, and if you are already in, leave the night before or as early as you can. Everything at Tidal River, camping and cabins alike, has to be booked in advance and can sell out months ahead; if you turn up after hours without a booking you cannot stay in the park. Tidal River is a further 30 minutes' drive past the park entrance, and the park occasionally closes for a few days at a time for conservation works, so check before you leave.
