Bridie O'Brien spent years in music before turning to painting full-time in 2020, and now works in oil from Canberra, laying thick colour with a palette knife across snow country, headlands and back roads. She paints from time in the landscape, bushwalking and snow camping, and groups her work into place-based series from Tasmania to Italy. A finalist in the Paddington and Lethbridge landscape prizes, she sells originals and prints and shows at art fairs at home and abroad.
