Eight years making cool-climate wines on a vineyard straddling the NSW/ACT border gave Contentious Character its foundations. In 2024, winemaker Jeremy Wilson and the team relocated to Fyshwick, setting up an urban cellar door in Canberra's industrial-turned-weekend district. Open daily for pours and meals — the kind of place that moved to the city without losing the country habit of talking to strangers.
