Bruce and Griffith Belcher have run guided wildlife cruises on the Daintree River since 1987, working the estuary in a UNESCO World Heritage area where saltwater crocodiles turn up on 98% of trips alongside birds and tree snakes. The one-hour cruises leave from a private jetty on the river, with experienced local guides and small groups. Departures run through the day from a base at Lower Daintree, where the family also keeps a licensed cafe.
