Hidden in the forested hills behind Lorne, Erskine Falls drops thirty metres into a fern gully in the Great Otway National Park, one of the loveliest waterfalls on the Great Ocean Road. A short, steep path descends to the base, where the water falls through a cathedral of tree ferns and towering mountain ash, and a viewing platform near the car park gives the easy view for those who would rather not tackle the steps. The surrounding Otways are among the wettest, greenest country in Victoria. Go after rain, when the falls are full and the forest drips.
