A karri fire-lookout tree three kilometres south of Pemberton, fitted with metal pegs that spiral up the trunk to a platform above the canopy — and open to climbers once more. Around it, Gloucester National Park protects tall karri forest, with trees reaching up to 95 metres, and Lefroy Brook running to rapids and small falls at the Cascades. Walk trails range from the 400-metre Dukes Walk to the ten-kilometre Gloucester Route, and the Karri Forest Explorer scenic drive threads through the park on the town's doorstep.
