Karl and Simeon Jurkijevic work as bladesmiths in the Northern Territory, forging hunting and chef's knives, ceremonial pieces, axes and daggers with hammer and anvil. Theirs is a whole-object craft: the blade forged and shaped, the handle turned in timber, the sheath cut and stitched in leather, all by hand and made to order. The work is pitched as heirloom quality, and Karl runs weekend knife-making classes for those who want to spend two days at the forge.
