James McMurtrie Glass Blowing

James McMurtrie and partner Christina Trace run a working studio and gallery on the edge of Gariwerd — the Grampians National Park — in Pomonal, Western Victoria. McMurtrie came to glass via ceramics, and the farm-kid instinct for making things persists: visitors can watch molten glass being worked with tools whose lineage runs to the first century BC, then browse bowls, vessels, and sculptural pieces in the adjoining gallery.
